Niina & Kati 20 years

Peunto Visto & Girls

What is better than travelling??!! Travelling with your friends! What is better than travelling with your friends??!! Travelling with your bestfriend!! :)
We have been friends almost 20 years now (it is going to be our 20 year anniversary 02/2012) and we have had some great trips before also. One of the best once was when we spend 5 weeks in California back in 1993. It was Kati & Niina - The Early Years. :)

Walking from Colosseum

Had the best time in Rome
I´m wearing the Desigual jacket

Best trips are those which gives you so many memories that you need to write them down to remember them all.

Hope we will have many more great trips to come. Next one will be next July when we will celebrate our 20 year together at Legendary Orimattila Kantrifestarit! :)

One of the best days ever

One of the things in our famous TO DO LIST - ROME was to have picnic in Villa Borghese Park. Everybody said it is going to rain and thunder on Sunday and it was our picnic day...In the morning we took taxi to see Vatican city, which ended up beeing the biggest (and only) disappointment in Rome. It took us 5 min and 20 pics to say CHECKED!! ;)
In Vatican we had enlightenment and jumped to taxi and went to our place to get all picnic stuffs. Back to taxi again and straight to Villa Borghese Park.

One of the most beautiful places!!

Everything on that picnic was just perfect. How do you know that moment when you are having one of the best days of your life??!! Just a small feeling you get and you know this is something special and you will remember this for ever..(many hearts here!!) Well, this was one of those days. :)

Hanna had made a little detour after we came to Rome. And because of that we had fresh paguette straight from Paris in our picnic and that is just what you need when you are having picnic in Rome with your best girls. :)

Hih...our blanket was huge and we borrowed it from our place and ended up walking with it all day around Rome in our "Kassialma" blastic bag, but it was so worth it!! :)

Food & Drinks in Rome

First 2 pics are from our first Trastevere restaurant which we found on this lovely narrow street. I ate my first and last pasta there....

First pizza in Trastevere. I should have writting all the names of the foods and places somewhere...now cant remember them all...
Look so different from pizzas in Finland...and the taste...oih!!

Kati & breakfast pizza at 3pm ;)

Kati´s Tiramisu close to Fontana di Trevi

I tasted my first Tiramisu and....yaki....

One of the best things in Rome. Our cheese plate next to Pantheon. Yami yami!!

Next to Pantheon. Great Prosecco & food.

This was our local BAR in Trastevere. Had few Prosecco´s, Mojitos & what ever´s over there. :)

Ok...this was when I momentarily missed Florida and we had to oder SEX ON THE BEACH & TEQUILA SUNRISE...

We had few bottles of Prosecco over there...not sure if there is any left in Rome. ;)

One of the best things we did was to have picnic in Villa Borghese Park.

We walked from Villa Borghese to Piazza di Spagna and I could write entire new blog about that journey. ;)
First stop was this lovely little picnic Bar...Girls had some more Prosecco...

One bottle of Prosecco overlooking the Piazza di Spagna. Also one of the best views in Rome. ;) And not talking about the steps now...hih...

Almost all the places you got some appetizers with your drinks. This is from restaurant in Piaza de Popolo.

...and some more Prosecco in Piaza di Popelo.

Hanna had Risotte with champagne & Truffles

One of the pizzas

This was a cafe in a building opposite of our place in Trastevere. Best service ever and biggest salads in Rome.

See, we had some water too. ;)

Kati and one must eat ice-cream...
Pasta oli pienoinen pettymys ainakin minulle. Tosin voi johtua siitäkin, että söin sitä vaan yhdessä paikassa. ;) Pizzat oli aivan mahtavia!! Ja puhumattakaan uudesta ihastuksesta Prosecco The Bubbly!! :)
Kyllä yksi loman parhaimpia hetkiä on yhteiset juoma- ja ruokatauot. (sydän tähän!!)

Charming Trastevere

Previous trips we have used apartments instead of hotels also in Barcelona. (first one was close to Rambla and not that good. Last one was in Plaza de Catalunya and same building as Hard Rock Cafe and it was absolutely great!!)

Apartement is always better if there are many people traveling. This time there were 3 girls and we decided to rent again. We had some problems also this time...They changed our place one time (even we had paid already) and do not even get me started about getting the keys. But none of these mattered when we saw our place.

Our window is on the 3rd floor, the open one.

View from our window. Over looking Puente Visto, also know as Ponte Sisto. ;)

We totally fell in love with Trastevere!! Separated from the heart of central Rome by the river and our beloved Ponte Sisto. Trastevere is unique neigbourhood with beautiful narrow streets.
Often described as Bohemian, homes and terraces with flower boxes, coffee bars, restaurants, and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Buildings in terracotta and all the colours of the rainbow cast a glow, like a daylong sunset. Just so so beautiful area.

Even these look nice in Trastevere. :)

It was easy to move everywhere from our place. It was mine and Kati´s first time in Rome. Hanna had been there once before.
There is so much information in internet but always easier to know which ares you like after you have actually been there. Next time it will be more easier to decide where to rent.

Our neigbours had a great roof terrace

The ceiling of our place

View from our terrace. It looks so Italien. :)

Our door knop
Next time in Rome, we will return for sure to our Trastevere. :)
